Our client, a leading savings and credit cooperative society with regional satellite offices in the country wishes to recruit focused results – driven qualified and highly motivated top talent to fill the vacancy of Finance Manager based in their head office in Nairobi.
The Finance Manager will provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all financial operations of the society. The Finance Manager is responsible for sound financial management of the Society in line with Strategic Business and Financial Plans and International Accounting Standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement sound financial policies, procedures, and systems.
- Administer and review the Society’s Accounting Norms and Procedures.
- Budget and conduct trend forecasting to support the Board to achieve business objectives.
- Advise the CEO on financial strategies and their impact on the Society objectives.
- Oversee and advise on prudent financial management and investment undertakings by adopting sound financial policies for optimum returns.
- Formulate a strategic financial plan that supports overall business growth.
- Prepare and implement Finance Departmental annual work plans.
- Provide team leadership within the department through professional staff performance management.
- Establish effective financial controls and risk management procedures to safeguard the Society’s assets
- Coordinate and oversee external audit activities.
- Ensure compliance with the relevant statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements in the execution of Society’s business.
- Benchmark on market trends in the finance sector and advise the CEO accordingly.
- Ensure timely financial reconciliations.
- Be responsible for the compilation and presentation of the Society’s financial reports.
- Be responsible for cost management initiatives in the Society.
- Participate in the recruitment of staff within the department.
- Ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards and regulations.
- Conduct appraisals on all projects to ensure positive returns on investments.
- Implement technological innovations for sound financial management practices.
Knowledge: Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or any other related field
- Masters’ degree in related field is an added advantage
- Must be CPA (K) or ACCA holder
- Member of ICPAK and in good standing
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, 3 of which MUST be in senior management.
- Advanced excel and Microsoft Navision is an added advantage
- Computer proficiency in ERP, IFRS.
