Our client, a leading savings and credit cooperative society with regional satellite offices in the country wishes to recruit focused results – driven qualified and highly motivated top talent to fill the vacancy of Chief Commercial Manager based in their head office in Nairobi.
The Chief Commercial Manager will be responsible for development and execution of the Society’s commercial strategy to drive growth, profitability and member value.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Liaise with other departmental managers and develop a comprehensive business development strategy that is aligned to the Society’s Vision and Strategic Direction.
- Develop policy, procedures and process frameworks for new business acquisitions and opportunities.
- Lead the development of new products and concepts and ensure their execution.
- Network with customers, industry players and key stakeholders to build and sustain sound working relationships.
- Implement new business initiatives in line with the corporate strategy.
- Carry out business and economic modelling to establish the viability of investment proposals and their impact on the long-term sustainability of the Sacco.
- Ensure that the Sacco participates in the formulation of Government policies touching on SACCO Subsector.
- Improve product marketability through research and innovations.
- Be responsible for delivery of quality customer experience.
- Be responsible for development and implementation of a comprehensive performance management system.
- Be responsible for preparation of briefs and papers to the CEO and the Board of management respectively.
- In liaison with HR, ensure availability of top talent for Commercial Division.
- Be responsible for divisional budgets that support Society’s strategic objectives.
- Drive cross functional team collaboration to promote business synergy, innovation, new product development and growth within the Sacco.
- Enhances corporate image and brand equity by coordinating implementation of media and public relations strategies.
- Spearhead the Society’s marketing initiatives.
- Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Academic Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics or any other business-related field from a recognized institution.
- A Masters’ degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Membership with local, regional or global professional bodies such as the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), Charted Institute of Marketers (CIM) or Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
- Minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in strategy and business development, 5 of which MUST be in senior management, preferably in a Sacco

- Good understanding of Banking and Sacco laws and regulations.

- Working knowledge of marketing communications, branding, customer relationship management, and other relevant concepts.

Note: The position is offered on a three-year contract, with the potential for renewal upon satisfactory performance evaluations.
